23/06/2008 17:06 FIFE NOVICE AND LEAGUE UPDATE Novice Leagues

In the Boys 9 and under, InCAS finished in 5th place. The Girls 9 and under teams finished in 5th and 8th places. This is an excellent result for our swimmers, some of whom are only 6 or 7 years old.

Fife Leagues

The 10 and under age groups saw both the Boys and the Girls win their respective leagues. The boys won with 150 points - 87 points ahead of the second placed club. Well done to them. The girls narrowly won by 9 points, but had only 1 swimmer (out of 4) at league meet 3. 11-12 Boys were 3rd; 11-12 girls 6th. The girls 13-14 years had outstanding success winning their league by 80 points. What a great team they were. 15 and over boys were 2nd. Well done to our 'older' swimmers who are a great example to the young ones.

These results are excellent when you consider that they are team points and on many occasions we didn't field full teams.

Well done to all our swimmers who contributed to the success of the Club at these events. The Fife League trophies will be presented at the Fife Championships on October 12th at Carnegie.

A big thank you to all those parents who did time-keeping and judging duties, who marshalled, sold raffle tickets and programmes at the door and who helped
poolside. If we don't provide the requisite number of officials at these meets, the Club is fined, £25 per missing person. Over the course of these 4 meets, 2
sessions each time, we provided all the officials we needed, thus avoiding any fines. Thanks again for supporting your child and our club.

Thanks also go to our coaches, Garrie, Susan and Mia, who do an excellent job in preparing our swimmers for all the Galas they attend.

Linda

InCAS latest game in the Water polo League was a Monday night visit to Dundee. The match promised to be tough and Menzieshill proved their point going
ahead early in the first quarter. The away team rallied after that and leading from the front, Captain, Darren Campbell made the score at 1-1 at the end of the first.

In the second period, InCAS continued to apply pressure and good finishing from Darren (2) and Chris Campbell (1) saw the home side punished. Menzieshill applied a lot of pressure in the third period creating a number of opportunities before forcing a penalty which was saved by Darren. Breakaways from Neil Vidler and Edward Haroun, in his return game, were eventually rewarded with Edward scoring late on to take the game into the fourth quarter with InCAS in a comfortable 5-1 lead. The superior fitness of the away team showed in the final period, Menzieshill created little while Darren and Chris Campbell added one a piece before Daniel Woodall tied up the game, 8-1 to InCAS.

PRESS RELEASE FOR INCAS WATERPOLO TEAM

InCAS water polo team are making good progress in the East District League. The team has won all their games so far and it looks like they will be the eventual winners. Over the past few weeks the team have played two games, away against Warrender and at home against Menzieshill.

The team were very strong against Warrender. Daniel Woodall and Nicola Tate opened the scoring in the first quarter against a weak Warrender defence.
InCAS continued to dominate the game with goals from Darren Campbell, Christopher Campbell, Daniel Woodall, Nicola Tate, Kerry Falconer and Neil Vidler. The game ended 14- 2 to InCAS.

A week later InCAS played Menzieshill. This was another good game, with InCAS Managing a 13-7 victory. InCAS won the first quarter 3-2, after
regaining the lead. Their strong defence and fast break attacks ensured that they kept the lead. They raced ahead in the second quarter and were able to
retain the lead for the rest of the game even through a scoring spree from Menzieshill in the third quarter. Goals came from Daniel Woodall (3), Christopher Campbell (2), Nicola Tate (2), Kerry Falconer (2), Darren Campbell (2) and Alison Tate (2) who scored her first goals in a competitivegame
