HMS CALEDONIA - RE-OPEN FOR TRAINING

We have been advised HMS Caledonia is re-open following yesterday's forced closure. As such training on Saturday is as normal, 12.45 - 2.45pm, to which all squads are invited.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS  THANK YOU

On behalf of all at InCAS we would like to sincerely thank all parents who volunteered to assist within the running of the Club Championships.  It was also very encouraging to see a large number of supporters in the gallery cheering on our young swimmers, who all swam extremely well and enjoyed the day. The results shall be collated for the Presentation Evening on Friday 20 August 2010 to be held at the Civil Service Club, Rosyth, further details of which shall be circulated and posted onto the website.

SUMMER TRAINING BREAK

Please note the Club's training programme shall be closing for the Summer break in the last two weeks in July, and also the first week in August. Training therefore ceases on Monday 19 July, and recommences on Monday 9 August 2010. Have an enjoyable Summer break !!

FREE TRAINING AT STIRLING NSA

We have been approached by Carnegie Coach John Kirby, who together with Gary Hallam are undertaking a UKCC L2 course at the NSA Stirling (18th - 25th July). As part of this course, the organisers are looking for volunteer swimmers to undertake a "free coaching" session(s). They have invited swimmers within our upper squads to assist in making up the numbers. If any swimmers are interested, please contact Garrie Roberts or Derek Pirouet by Friday 25th June at the latest, to complete the necessary forms and pass them to John Kirkby.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

For those partaking in the Annual Club Championships this weekend, we ask you arrive prepared for the Warm-up to commence at 12 noon sharp. We are preparing a list of parents who wish to watch and do not hold a valid Pass onto the base, and details should be passed to Derek or Garrie as the list shall be utilised by the guardhouse to allow temporary access for the event.

We shall require a number of adult helpers on the day to undertake duties such as timekeeping, marshalling, recording, etc. Please liaise with Queenie Bruce on this regard.

THE WING - TRAINING ARRANGEMENT ALTERATION

Please note The Wing shall be closing at 7.00pm on Thursday 17 June due to a school induction session. As such those who swim within the Transition and Seals Squads who normally train between 7.00-8.00pm are requested to train this week from 6.00 – 7.00pm.  We also request those within the Dolphins Squad who normally swim between 7.00 – 8.00pm attend HMS Caledonia from 5.00 - 7.30pm.

 

In addition could all Dolphin’s please note Garrie wishes you to attend HMS Caledonia every Thursday from hereon in, commencing on 17 June, with the sessions running from 5.00pm – 7.30pm.  If you are unable to start at 5.00pm you may arrive for 6.00pm.

FIFE NOVICE & LEAGUES No 4

On behalf of InCAS we wish to thank all who assisted during the course of the day with the various roles to be filled as Duty Club. Also thanks to all our parent helpers and timekeepers for once again stepping up to the mark.

Also a big congratulations to all our swimmers who once again competed admirably, with a number of excellent swims. Results shall be posted once they are available from the organisers of the event.

AMENDED TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS FOR WEEK COMMENCING 7 JUNE 2010

Due to the local Holiday Weekend, and school in service days, training has been amended to the following arrangements for Monday 7th; Tuesday 8th;& Wednesday 9th June:

 

Monday 7th June –  Squads who normally train at The Wing continue with the 6.00-8.00pm session at The Wing.

-                                      Squads who normally train at Cally between 5.00-7.30pm shall now train between 1.00-3.00pm at Cally.

-                                      Squads who train with the FPS, should train at Cally 1.00-3.00pm as there is no session at Lochgelly.

 

Tuesday 8th June – Squads from Youth National upwards to train at Cally between 1.00-3.00pm.

-                                      FPS squad then have land training 4.30-6.30pm at Lochgelly.

 

Wednesday 9th June – Squads who normally train at The Wing 6.00-8.00pm, to train 1.00-3.00pm at Cally.  No training at The Wing.

MIDLOTHIAN MINNOWS PRESS RELEASE

A dozen young Incas swimmers competed in the annual Midlothian Mini Meet held in Prestonpans on Sunday 29th May.

 

With the age groups of 9 and under; 10 years; 11/12 years InCAS had an excellent day of swimming with 11 year old Tain Bruce taking the top honours once again in the 11/12 years age group. Four swims – four Gold’s – four lifetime bests. Tain’s Gold’s came in the 50m Backcrawl in 37.53;  50m Breastroke 40.91; 50m Fly 34.39 and 50m Front Crawl 31.28, an excellent days swimming.

 

The boys 9 and under age group saw a tussle between 8 year old Harris Bruce and 9 year old JJ Moultrie –Waring with JJ just coming out on top. The 25m Fly saw Harris win the Gold in 19.96 with JJ second in 19.97 only a hundredth of a second behind. The 25m Backcrawl saw JJ win the Gold in 19.59 with Harris winning the Bronze in 20.14.  JJ went on to win a Silver in the 25mF/C in 18.04 with Harris finishing in 4th place and again a Bronze in the 25m Breastroke 26.04 with Harris in 5th place.

 

The girls 9 and under 4x25m Front Crawl Relay team of Leighona Harper, Millie Knox, Dana Brand and Cara Smyth won a Silver.

 

The boys 11/12 years age group saw Jack Harrison win a Bronze in the 50m Backstroke in a personal best time of 39.63. Jack also achieved lifetime best times in the remainder of his swims, 50m Fly, 50m Breaststroke, and 50m Free.

 

Other swimmers who performed superbly were in the 9 and under age group, 6 year old Ali Moultrie-Waring,  6 year old Ellie Turner and Lee Harrison. 10 year old age group Rowan Ormiston, Amy Hurst and Kelsey Knox. In the girls 11/12yrs age group Claire Mitchell. Altogether 6 Gold’s, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze, 12 Finalists and an impressive 30 PB’s.
