What a weekend local swim club InCAS had at their own annual
Distance Meet held at the Fife Institute, Glenrothes on Saturday and
Sunday 21st and 22nd June.
With 25 clubs from all over Scotland - and also a club from England
- the competition was excellent.
Eleven year old InCAS swimmer Rachael O'Donnell had an outstanding
two days with eight swims. She took home 8 Golds, 6 National Records
and 7 East District Records and, not surprisingly, won Top 11/12
years age group. Rachael’s Golds came in the 200m Backcrawl
2.33.26; 200m Breastroke 2.59.18; 200m Butterfly 2.39.95; 200m
Freestyle 2.16.68; 200m Individual Medley 2.38.07; 400m Freestyle
4.48.06; 400m IM 5.24.14; and 800m Freestyle 9.57.76.
The girls 10 and under age group saw 9 year old Tain Bruce have an
excellent weekend winning a Silver in the 200m backcrawl, a 4th
place medal in the 400m Free and two 5th place medals in the 200m
Breastroke and 200m Free.
The 13/14 years saw 13 year old Leah Marshall have an outstanding
weekend with Silver in the 200m Backcrawl and four superb lifetime
bests. Thirteen year old Ailidh Brown won Bronze in the 200m
Backcrawl and two 5th place medals in the 200m Breastroke and 200m
Individual Medley.
All in all 8 Golds, 2 Silvers, 1 Bronze, 18 finalists and a superb
37 lifetime bests from 44 swims plus 6 Scottish National Age Group

FIFE
NOVICE AND LEAGUE UPDATE |
Novice
Leagues
In the Boys 9 and under, InCAS finished in 5th place. The Girls 9
and under teams finished in 5th and 8th places. This is an excellent
result for our swimmers, some of whom are only 6 or 7 years old.
Fife Leagues
The 10 and under age groups saw both the Boys and the Girls win
their respective leagues. The boys won with 150 points - 87 points
ahead of the second placed club. Well done to them. The girls
narrowly won by 9 points, but had only 1 swimmer (out of 4) at
league meet 3. 11-12 Boys were 3rd; 11-12 girls 6th. The girls 13-14
years had outstanding success winning their league by 80 points.
What a great team they were. 15 and over boys were 2nd. Well done to
our 'older' swimmers who are a great example to the young ones.
These results are excellent when you consider that they are team
points and on many occasions we didn't field full teams.
Well done to all our swimmers who contributed to the success of the
Club at these events. The Fife League trophies will be presented at
the Fife Championships on October 12th at Carnegie.
A big thank you to all those parents who did time-keeping and
judging duties, who marshalled, sold raffle tickets and programmes
at the door and who helped
poolside. If we don't provide the requisite number of officials at
these meets, the Club is fined, £25 per missing person. Over the
course of these 4 meets, 2
sessions each time, we provided all the officials we needed, thus
avoiding any fines. Thanks again for supporting your child and our
club.
Thanks also go to our coaches, Garrie, Susan and Mia, who do an
excellent job in preparing our swimmers for all the Galas they
attend.

THANK
YOU |
A
massive BIG THANK YOU to all those parents who helped out this
afternoon on the InCAS fund raising stall at Dalgety Bay Gala Day.
Thanks also to those who produced home baking and donated prizes for
the tombola.
Despite heavy showers, visitors were not put off visiting our stall
and we were all kept busy selling cakes, tombola tickets and punch
balloons. A very special THANK YOU to Sam Moodie for organising this
years event and doing all the background preperation work as well as
being on the stall all afternoon. Also to Liz Latto for providing
the gazeebo and for setting up this morning. Finally to Claire and
Greg Harper, Karen McKibbon, Christine Duncan, Pauline Lawson, Susan
Gourlay, Christine Glass and anyone else I may have missed.
Your help and support this afternoon was very much appreciated. |
