PRESS RELEASE FOR INCAS WATERPOLO TEAM
InCAS water polo team are making good progress in the East District
League. The team has won all their games so far and it looks like
they will be the eventual winners. Over the past few weeks the team
have played two games, away against Warrender and at home against
Menzieshill.
The team were very strong against Warrender. Daniel Woodall and
Nicola Tate opened the scoring in the first quarter against a weak
Warrender defence.
InCAS continued to dominate the game with goals from Darren
Campbell, Christopher Campbell, Daniel Woodall, Nicola Tate, Kerry
Falconer and Neil Vidler. The game ended 14- 2 to InCAS.
A week later InCAS played Menzieshill. This was another good game,
with InCAS Managing a 13-7 victory. InCAS won the first quarter 3-2,
after
regaining the lead. Their strong defence and fast break attacks
ensured that they kept the lead. They raced ahead in the second
quarter and were able to
retain the lead for the rest of the game even through a scoring
spree from Menzieshill in the third quarter. Goals came from Daniel
Woodall (3), Christopher Campbell (2), Nicola Tate (2), Kerry
Falconer (2), Darren Campbell (2) and Alison Tate (2) who scored her

Outstanding
Success for InCAS Swimmers
The final weekend of the East District Age Group Swimming
Championships took place at the Fife Institute Glenrothes with InCAS
Swimming Club having an outstanding competition.
The girls 10/11 years age group saw some quite superb swimming with
Rachel O’Donnell star of the show. Rachel won the 100m butterfly
final in 1.11.59 which was a Scottish age group and East District
Record.
The girls 10/11 years 100m freestyle was always going to be one of
the highlights – and it didn’t disappoint. Firstly, Rachel won
her heat in a new Scottish age group time of 1.04.64. In the next
heat, InCAS swimmer Chelsea Lawson (who has only recently returned
from long term injury) beat Rachel’s time to set another Scottish
age group record in 1.04.50. A third InCAS swimmer, Laura-Kate
O’Brien qualified in 4th place for the final in an excellent
personal best time of 1.07.03. So the final was set and didn’t
disappoint. It was touch and go up to the final 5 metres. The final
result was both InCAS girls once again beating the Scottish age
group record. Rachel took the gold in 1.04.07 and Chelsea the silver
in 1.04.39 and to top it all the bronze went to Laura-Kate
O’Brien.
Chelsea won the 100m backstroke final in an East District Record
time of 1.12.40 with Rachel second, also beating the ED record in
1.13.05 and Laura-Kate in 6th place.
The girls 12/13 years age group saw Ailidh Brown start to blossom
and believe in herself winning 2 bronze medals both in excellent
personal bests in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. Team mate
12 year old Samantha MacMillan made 2 finals. She placed 6th in the
100 back and 5th in the 100 fly - both personal bests. She’s now
looking forward to competing in the same age group next year!
The boys 12/13 group saw Great Britain squad water polo player,
Chris Campbell, finish in 6th place in 100 m front crawl in an
excellent personal best beating the one minute barrier in 59.94.
The girls 14/15 years group saw 14 year old Roisin Donnelly win a
silver in the 100 m breaststroke and she was 5th in the 100 m fly
despite a tummy bug.
The 16+ boys age group saw British Masters 50m fly record holder,
Craig Holmes, have a good 100m fly swim breaking the Scottish
Masters record in a time of 1.00.55.
The girls 10/11 relay team of Laura-Kate O’Brien, Erin Brown,
Rachel O’Donnell and Chelsea Lawson won silver in both the 4x50m
medley and front crawl relays. The girls 12/13 age group saw Leah
Marshall, Ailidh Brown, Samantha MacMillan and Kayleigh Hutton win
silver in the 4x50m medley.
Overall Rachel O’Donnell won the 10/11 years age group top award
and also the Andrew Taylor Award for outstanding swim of the
championships in her 200m individual medley smashing the Scottish
age group record by 4.5 seconds.
InCAS - with only a handful of swimmers - finished overall in 4th
place in the East District and march onwards towards greater
achievements.
