All members of Youth, Youth National and all Scottish and

HMS
CALEDONIA UPDATE |
Garrie
has just been advised tonight that HMS Caledonia will now
not be available to us until Monday 26th January 2009. This
obviously causes ongoing problems for upper squad training
at a time when pool time throughout Fife is very much at a
premium with the closure of Carnegie Centre. After much
searching Garrie has been able to secure pooltime for
Thursday 22nd January only, from 7-9pm at LEVEN SWIMMING
POOL. All squads normally in attendance at HMS Caledonia on
a Thursday are invited to attend the session at Leven as an
alternative. On behalf of InCAS committee and coaching
staff, please accept our sincere apologies for the
inconvenience this unexpected long closure is causing.
Efforts are continuing to arrange alternative pooltime over
this coming weekend and this will be confirmed as soon as
possible.
Please continue to check emails and InCAS web site for the
latest news. Training at the Wing and Lochgelly is on as per
normal training schedule and is not effected by the closure
of HMS Caledonia. |

CALEDONIA EXTENDED CLOSURE |
We
have been informed today, HMS Caledonia will remain closed
until Tuesday 20th Jan at the earliest. Training will
therefore have to be cancelled for all squads normally in
attendance there on Monday evening. We regret there is no
alternative pool available due to the severe pool time
demands in Fife at present with the Carnegie closure. Please
keep a close watch on emails and InCAS website for latest
information |

NEWS
ITEM |
Sadly,
InCAS first coach, Ron Braund, has died. His funeral will be
held on Monday 5th January 2009 at 10am in Dunfermline
Crematorium. Colin Braund, his son, was one of the first
swimmers of InCAS. Ron was a former national Coach. Between
them they put InCAS on the map of Scottish Swimming or
S.A.S.A. as it was.
Our thoughts are with the family. |

BONUS
BALL UPDATE |
The
club funds were boosted recently when £300 cash was handed
over from the New Bonus Ball which was re-started in
October. Our grateful thanks go to the all of those who
subscribe to this each week. It really is a great way of
helping to support the club and helping to provide the
extras for the swimmers that are not covered by the fees
without too much effort. Many many thanks.
There are still numbers available and any members who wish
to contribute should contact Lindsay or Shonah Hutchison at
incas-funds@tesco.net or of course poolside.
For all our newer members who have recently joined the club
(or established members who have forgotten) just to explain;
The balls cost £1 each per week and the winning ball on the
lotto Saturday draw determines the club winner. We normally
collect on a 5 weekly basis and will email you as a receipt
when you pay and email again just prior to your subscription
being due as a reminder.
Remember though, you got to be in it and paid it to win it.
On another note, any unwanted Xmas presents come in very
useful throughout the year in our various raffles and
tombolas, if anyone or any family member/neighbour has been
given such gifts surplus to requirements, please keep for the
club or email us and we will store if required until needed.
Soaps, bubble bath, through to singing fish/garden gnomes
anything goes. |
