Raising Events |
June
brings with it the official start of summer and hopefully some better
weather! What better way to spend a warm, sunny, Saturday than to help
at the InCAS stall at Dalgety Bay Gala Day to be held on SATURDAY 9th
June 2007. This will be our first year at this very popular event and
has the potential to generate InCAS a lot of interest in the Club and
also a lot of money to help support the Club in the coming year and
thereby stave off any potential fee increase that may otherwise become
necessary. If you can afford us an hour or two or more on the day,
please email Sam Moodie at thevirginsam@googlemail.com
. Amongst other raising methods at the stall, there will be a
Tombola and Home Baking. All donations will be gratefully received!
Contact Sam again please.
The following weekend
we have a further fundraiser with the Sponsored Swim Event at HMS
Caledonia from 1.00pm - 3.00pm. Again, parental help is requested
poolside to manage this event. Please contact Sam if you can assist in
any way. Sam is working very hard to make these events a success.
Please show your appreciation by assisting her in any way you can!
Finally, in case you
don't yet know, we have our 2nd InCAS Distance Meet on 23/24 June 2007
at FIPRE, Glenrothes. Once again we are informed that we heve been
overwhelmed by entries with over 30 clubs asking to attend. Final
swims have yet to be finalized, but we will need as many parent
helpers as possible to manage this two day event. Even if you child is
not swimming, please remember that this is our major source of income
for the year. Let's make it an enjoyable weekend for all. Even if you
can only spare a few hours, your will know that you have helped
support your Club. Please let us know if you can come along by
emailing us at incas@tesco.net
After all this
excitement, we can all relax and pack the kids of to Fordell Firs on
the morning of Sunday 1st July. This fun event has only been made
possible by the hard work of previous fund raising activities and the
organisational skills of our Club Secretary, Gill Morgan. Gill has
worked very hard to ensure that the money raised from the last Asda
Bag Pack is put to good use to reward our young people. We hope to end
the day with a barbeque giving us all a chance to relax, socialise and
reflect on all our recent achievements and look forward to the long
hot summer holiday ahead! |

Thank
You |
Once
again, a big thank you to the parent helpers who assisted at the Fife
Novice League Meet 3 today at FIPRE, Glenrothes. InCAS were host club
for sessions 1 & 2 and I am pleased to report that everything ran
very smoothly during both sessions. This all bodes well for our
Distance Meet 23/24 June 2007 at FIPRE!
Thanks to
Liz, Queenie, Ruth and Tom for assisting poolside and time-keeping.
Special thanks to Gill & Linda for marshalling not only session 1
but also session 2 thereby preventing the Club from receiving a fine
and also to Shonah and Lindsay for their sterling duties in copying
and selling of programmes and raffle tickets again for both sessions..
Above and beyond everyone!! There's nothing we can't do now (apart
from 25m butterfly!)
Full
results for both this weekend's galas at Glenrothes and Tollcross will
appear here as soon as results are available. Well done to all InCAS
swimmers who participated at galas this weekend. |

Help
Required |
As
part of the Fife Leagues, each club must host a session. Failure to do
so will result in a fine. This weekend it is InCAS turn to play host
for sesions 1 and 2. We urgently require assistance from parents in
the running of the 1st and 2nd sessions only. As well as the mentoring
of our own youngsters, we need to provide marshalling, runners,
time-keepers, programme sellers and general poolside help. If you can
assist us this Sunday at FIPRE, Glerothes from 8.30am until approx
1300, please email Gill Morgan ASAP at Gillian.Morgan@fife.gov.uk
or Alan Saunders at mailto:incas@tesco.net.
Thank you once again for your value help. |

Tonight
is InCAS AGM at The Play Planet, DALGETY BAY. 7.00PM. Please
make every effort to attend this most important meeting of the year.
This is your opportunity to voice any concerns you may have and to
elect your committee. You may even consider becoming a committee
member yourself and thereby help grow the small number of dedicated
volunteers we have keeping the Club running as smoothly as possible
with the ever increasing administration jobs requiring attention. If
you can help, in any way whatsoever, please make yourself known
tonight. |

Following
last weekends visit to Ponds Forge, Sheffield, a few young InCAS
achieved some truly amazing results! Out of 55 clubs attending, Conor
Nally, Samantha MacMillan and Kayleigh Hutton achieved a collection of
Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards plus numerous PB's giving the Club a
final overall placing of 17th overall. Former InCAS swimmer Lewis
Kirby also gained 1 Silver & 2 Bronze plus 6 PBs!
Very
well done to everyone - what a fantastic achievement!
Also
breaking records south of the border last weekend, Craig Holmes was
competing in the Carlisle Masters and got 2 golds plus 2
silvers.. The golds were awarded for 50m butterfly in a time of 26.83
which I am told is one one hundredth off the Scottish masters
record - a new PB for Craig though! The other gold was in 100m
butterfly. The silver medals came from 50m backstroke setting a
new club record of 28.80, the other being in 100m freestyle.
Well
done Craig! |

SASA Raffle

Cast your minds back to a few months ago. John Kirby gave us all the opportunity

collect all the ticket sales money plus the stubs so that we can return them
in time for the draw. Gill Morgan has volunteered to do this job beginning
next Monday 21st May.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE ALL FUNDS AND TICKET
STUBS AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION DURING THAT WEEK.
Please
note: For those of you returning more than 50% of tickets unsold, you will
be due Garrie 100 sit ups!. You have 7 days to sell, sell sell!!

10-May-07:Good
Luck at Sheffield. This
weekend will see a few InCAS travel to Sheffield to compete in the Rotherham
Metro Level 1 Long Course Open Meet at Ponds Forge International Sports
Centre, Sheffield. Good luck from all your team mates & coaching staff.
Have a great time!
09-May-07:URGENT
HELP REQUIRED.
We are fast approaching our InCAS Distance Meet on weekend 23/24 June
2007 at FIPRE Glenrothes (Fife Institute). This two day event is potentially
a big fund raiser for InCAS and does require a lot of planning to make the
most of it. Most of this work in the past has been done by John & Brenda
Kirby. It will not be a success without a lot of background preparation. At
present we are without a GALA CONVENER at this our most important meet in
our swimming calander. As a result, the committee now appeal directly to the
membership to come forward to volunteer your help and support over the next
six weeks to ensure that all requirements are in place making the InCAS
DISTANCE MEET 2007 a success and therefore going a long way to financially
supporting the Club during 2007/8.
Specifically
we need help in the preparation and photocopying of programmes, mangagement
of various fund raising activities to be held over the weekend 23/24 June,
programme sellers for all four sessions, timekeepers, marshalls,
runners, record keepers, announcer, beverage supplies, and much much
more!! If you feel you can assist in any way, however small, please
contact a member of committee now or email incas@tesco.net
Many
young swimmers will be traveling some distance to attend our meet. They,
including our own InCAS swimmers, are relying heavily on the parental
support of all Clubs in attendance to allow their times to be
accredited. We cannot let them down by not providing this help.
If we fail to attract the required number of timekeepers judges etc ,
under SASA rules, the meet will not be accredited and their achievements
will therefore mean nothing.
Thank
you for reading this notice. Your help and support will be much appreciated.
07-May-07:
New
Club Record. Samantha MacMillan
returned jubilant from her visit to Ayr last weekend. She was 3rd in the
heats (01:14:48) and 4th in the finals with a time of 01:14.84 bettering her
existing East District Record by over 1.5 seconds and setting a new SC Club
Record for 100m Butterfly. This also gives Samantha a qualification time for
the UK ASA National Age Group Championships in July 07. Congratulations Sam
from all the Club - an excellent result!
05-May-07:
Return
of Trophies. We urgently require
the return of ALL Club trophies from last years winners. This is required to
allow us to get them engraved in time for this years Presentation Night on
18th May. Please return to Alan Saunders or any member of InCAS committee by
WEDNESDAY 9th MAY 2007.
Thank
you once again to all parent helpers who assisted today with timekeeping
& marshalling duties at the Club Championships and ensured that the
event ran smoothly and to time.
02-May-07:
HOLIDAY
FOR ALL SQUADS. No
this is not a wind-up and it is not 1st April! Due to the closure of both
the Wing and HMS Caledonia on MONDAY 7th May 2007 (MAY DAY HOLIDAY), there
will be no training for ALL SQUADS on that day.
Let's hope the sun keeps shining - enjoy your break.
02-May-07:

time-keeping (x12), marshalling and recording to ensure this
