Christopher lives in South Queensferry but
trains and swims with the InCAS swimming club in Fife. Chris is a member of
Disability Sport Fife, is 15 years of age and attends Queensferry High School.
He is the leading Scottish swimmer in his class and was a prolific medallist at
the Scottish and British Junior Swimming Championships of 2001/2002.
Christopher has been earmarked as one of
Scotland's leading juniors with Paralympics potential. In November 2002 he had
his first opportunity to represent Scotland at senior level at the British Short
Course Swimming Championships.
In 2002, Christopher was awarded National
Junior Sportsman of the Year for Scotland. More recently, 2004, he was awarded
Junior Sportsman for the Fife Region.
Christopher also won an individual Bronze and
a team Silver medal in the French Open Swimming Championships held in
Marseilles. He was also selected for the Paralympics trials in Sheffield in May
for the Great Britain swimming squad for the 2004 Paralympics in Athens.
Last November, Christopher won a Gold and
Silver medal at the Senior Long Course Championships which was surprising as
this event is usually for over 18's. |
